So, now that im done with my s4 its time to turn to my bronco and do a little sound work, here is what im going to do...tell me what you think.

First off, im removing the top, converting it to a rampage setup(truck conversion) and starting off with a custom built box(which of course im doing). Here are the basics thus far:

2x Apline Type X 1243's
2x Rockford Fosgate 1000.1 bd's
1x 20farad Rockford Capacitor

I'll be running 0 gauge wiring, the only thing im totally undecided on is what way I wanna go for the head unit.....ive never been a huge fan of dvd's(although thats what in my s4).......ideas???? input?????

pm avoid for the head unit advice since i'm more familiar with budget systems than spending a ton of cash on them so the higher end stuff isn't something i'm good with.

Type x's are great subs dont get me wrong ive heard them on multiple occasions... but for the price i think you could get something else that would out preform them with both cone area ( if you have the space for it) and rms handling.

Heres a link to some Fi BL's that are around the same price, and they can easily take 2k rms each daily. Just throwin out some ideas

Also, youd probably want an extra battery or 2 just to keep stable voltage and if you can afford it a high output alternator, Dont forget the big 3 upgrade

Goodluck!

Are you looking to get something that is waterproof?

Just a heads up, the T1000's are fucking badass. It honestly wouldnt surprise me if the voice coils on the Type X's start to melt after a little bit of time.

As for a deck, the new KDC-x995 is pretty cool. iPod/Bluetooth/Bluetooth Audio Streaming/AUX/HD Radio (Built in)/Pandora for iPhone/CD/AM/FM (HD). You can change the colors, etc. Even mismatch colors.

Other than that the only other deck I'd recommend would be the KIVBT901 which looks very similar. Better screen comes in full color. NO CD DRIVE. You can hook up a back up camera to it.
If you have any questions just PM me. Price on both are about the same. Both just came out this year. We sell the 995 for 399 and the 901 for 369(?) I think, idk they just came out last week.

http://www.crutchfield.com/s_113KDCX995/Kenwood-Excelon-KDC-X995.html?search=kdc-x995&skipvs=T

and

Just a heads up, the text on the 995 is incorrect. The text on the actual screen looks NOTHING like that...lol

And if you get either one, you're better off buying from a local dealer for the extra cash (Not much since they are new). You get a REAL manufactures warranty. Although Crutchfield is one of the most trusted online dealers.
