i know i knew the answer to this before, but if every time i turn (almost everytime) on my truck, my 6x9's (power by my 300 watt amp) pulses, idk the name exactly of what its called, is there any way to fix it/get rid of it, didn't use to be as loud as it is

Yes, check your ground and connections before you do anything, make sure the ground cable its connected to a bare metal surface and that it has -12v, if everything is connected right just hook up a SMALL resistor inline with ur remote wire if you can hear the sound on every speaker on your car and they arent connected to the amp itself use a diode inline with the resistor. Make sure the diode is connected with the ->| gate facing away from the amp so the voltage wont surge back to the radio or other electronic components which is what causes that popping noise most of the time. This is due to a faulty amp/radio but its easily fixed, that is, if u dont mind rigging your connections.

Edit: if you can still hear the sound after connecting the resistor, try a bigger one. Start with a 300ohm resistor then slowly increase the resistance.

Heres a chart on how to read resistance in resistors, if you need anymore help hit me up

I dont think you should ever use a premade box. Its so much better to just get a box made for your vehicle/subwoofers, correctly tuned, etc.

If its universal, its not good. I mean, you may get away with a decent sounding one, but why wouldnt you want the full potential from the subwoofers? Naw meen?

Well obviously, but when you can't get a premade, aka there are no decent shops around your area, you have to get what you can. And a decent premade is always better than a flea market premade.

Well you should hear mine. I hit hard short beats like a champ. I'm telling you its the way the box is made.

That's what I'm sayin, I got one Skar WX-12 (basically a Sundown SA-12) in a big ass ported box.
Not only does it earthquake the car on the low notes, it also hits metal/rock bass sooooo clean and hard!

I think that's something to do with a ground. You might need to ground your RCA outputs on the back of your deck..

That's no good dude, you have to make that one REALLY well.
When I did my friends I attatched it to the bolt holding the seatbelt down.

I took the washer and nut off and hit em with the grinding wheel, and I cleaned off the bolt itself with a wire wheel on the drill.
After I all that I sprayed battery terminal spray on all the pieces.

I attatched mine to the frame of my car (on the wheel well from inside the trunk) using the same methods.
I tested it and I have like 0.01ohm resistance between the negative terminal and my amp's ground.

Buying my first sub this spring/summer.

My manager told me to get either a RF P3 or a Kicker L7, which would you guys lean towards?
