dvc=dual voice coil. it allows you more wiring options essentially.

example

1 single voice coil 4 ohm sub can only be wired @4ohms on the amp. this means you waste a lot of the amplifiers potential.
1 dual voice coil 4 ohm sub can be wired @2ohms on the amp. this means you get almost twice the power from the same amplifier.

lower ohm loads=less electrical resistance.

okay cause as far as the polk's i was seeing, DVC for same models were same price.
less ohms is better though huh? well thank you again for the info :)

generally its better and you don't really have the single voice coil option on the majority of subs.

the only issue is you don't want to end up running subs below your amplifiers stability level. like if you get 2 4ohm dvc subs which will wire to 1ohm(can also be wired to 4ohm but no point in doing that) and your amplifier isn't 1 ohm stable you will probably ruin the amp quickly.

the manual for my PA330 is a manual for the 330, 660 and 880. says 2 ohm stable for the 880 :)

oh i have no plans on putting in a sub right now. this wouldn't be for months if i did decide to.
really i like bass for clarity, and don't like alot of it. so if the speakers have enough bass for clarity then i'll be happy. i can't stand those stupid rap listeners where the bass is louder then the vocals and every other part of the song.
not that the new rap should be considered music anyways, but that's a different topic :)

WOW... stupid ass USPS decided it was "incorrect adress" so they sent it back to the seller. and the seller sold it under a 3rd party, so this means i have to wait a week for it to get back to them, then they issue a refund, wait a few more days for that and then re-order the speakers....
i'm gonna go slit now... don't have the $$ to just order another one right now :mad:

i did this on sunday, took us ALL DAY cause we kept running into problems, and we had to do some "modding" since it is a smart car. and all smart car add-ons require "modding" hehe
i will take pictures this weekend when i wash it and clean it up some more. car is filthy right now. also gotta re-paint the grilles with another coat or two; was raining and cold so it didn't dry well.

i ended up buying a RCA converter since it was not auto-turning on with the speak level inputs it came with, so this is how i wired it:
head unit factory speaker wires ( pos/neg left, pos/neg right ) into http://www.walmart.com/ip/Scosche-Ford-JBL-and-GM-Bose-Speaker-Level-Converter-FAI-3/1863065
RCA cables from Adapter into RCA inputs on Amp
Left and Right pos/neg channels into left and right crossovers input
tweater and mid speaker into crossover
power cable with fuse from amp to battery
ground from amp to a ground bolt ( already used as a ground, so added this to it )

the system isn't as loud as i thought it would be, but i think this could be because of that adapter. once i get that pioneer dvd player head unit i want, hopefully it will be nice and loud :D

Not everyone who has a loud setup and listens to rap with the bass slamming, is always listening to it like this.

I turn up the gain for 10 seconds just to slam for a bit, then it goes back down.

And what you hear ouside the car is 10X different than what you hear inside. Bass travels further and louder then any range of hi's/mids

i've been in cars with high high bass and i just hate it. i like a nice clean balance, for best quality. after installing my speakers i think i will get a sub, maybe a 8" or 10", just for some nice balance.
never gonna "slam" it though
