Its simple fact that you can run 1200 watt rms on 90A alternator on a 14.4 Voltage .
I guess subwoofers just tell him not to since the alternator will go on overload x9000 and voltage drops tils the battery dies.
+ it wont give any extra load to the battery.
Big 3 will just help the flow and decrease the voltage drops in the long run it wont help you run more watt rms than the alternator can handle without draining the battery.

Subwoofer tells how to safely install the stuff and clearly knows how to even if he doesn't have a system  You just ask for problem if you run them like you :P

exactly. i'd rather have someone end up with a 100% reliable setup with no compromise/guessing/best of luck situations. i don't want them to have to worry if they can use their a/c and headlights at the same time as their stereo lol.

subwoofer seems to know what he is talking about it is basic electricity... but from my experience you dont need a HO alt for 1200 rms and under.. anything above that or your running multiple amps I would say go for it.. but the setup this kid is talking about getting I dont see a need for it.. also the big 3 never hurts..

Well this has certainly been interesting to watch.

If any of you actually care I did most of the research myself. Was to annoying to listen to both of you argue.

http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/mrx-m110 <-- Amp
http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/sws-15d2 <--- 2x 15's
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/CD-Receivers/DEH-X8500BH <-- Head Unit
http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/sps-510 <--- Front Speakers
And a Custom box that is already ordered.

Grand Total with me doing installations is 1,550

The car needs a big 3 upgrade and I am going to Cap it. Alt runs about 75 Amps and the amp with only be using 40 amps while running and 60 - 65 while idling. All I have to do is rev it a couple times if I am sitting in one spot.
Worse comes to worse another battery will work. Just hook it up in the trunk. Wiring is not that hard.

I decided going without rear speakers because TBH, I'm not going to hear them as much as I will the front speakers, and the subs are probably going to mask them anyways. If later I decide that I want some well I can install them pretty easy.

The amp is either going to be mounted on the back of my back seats. Or, if I can fit it under my passenger seat. I'm hoping that's where it can go. The subs are going to be bolted down to 2x plates with the subs pointed to the roof of the car.

Hopefully you guys like, dunno if you will but it is what I have decided to go with. It looks good. It sounds good in store (Even though that doesn't compare to what it will sound like in my car). I wish I could have gotten it for cheaper but the cost of importing things from US to Canada, just started to become too pricey. Almost felt like it was going to more then what I would pay here.

a cap wont help at all.. waste of money.. any reason your buying d2 subs with that shitty amp... alpine is all name... are those the only option you have or something? did you lookbon craigslist or ***? you can have people sell you shit and put it as a gift and will be able to dodge alot of shipping cost and taxes... idk but for 1500 $ that setup is a major rip off

It' snot a simple fact I install this shit for a living and I make money doing it I have ran a audio shop before ive mingled with New Englands loudest i could care less what you people THINK and who you THINK is right but fact is I run a 2kw+ system daily with no electrical upgrades, even the manufacturers themselves will tell you you don't need alternator upgrades for 1kw+ thats just retarded to spend that money that could have went into quality equipment on an electrical upgrade you dont need that's the point im making... Ive been doing 12 volt installs since I was 13 I know exactly what I'm talking about I can do almost anything with 12v.

I have VIDEOS of me running a DC 1.2K on my 90a alternator without dropping below 14v. If you go to any forum or site that has actually educated members they would laugh their asses off at the though of getting a H.O alt for 1000w lmao. If you know what you're doing in the least and not an idiot you can run almost anything on stock electrical daily.

Basic electricity doesn't always come into play theres too many factors to assume you need something if everyone got what they needed based off of basic eletrical knowledge people would be spending more on electrical than their system and not making much of any kind of gain, money that could have went into better equipment in the first place. If he was running 2k+ id say ya get an alt I can say I need one because idle itll drop to 13.5 and I dont like running lower than rated voltage for that amplifier but so far no smells no overheating or nothing theres just way too many factors to say hey you're running 180a you need a 180a alt because you have batteries, you have music that will use different voltage depending on the freq, youll have box rise, hell half the time your car won't be using nearly half of the amperage from your alt. you'll hardly ever see an amplifiers rated power with or without electrical upgrades. The best thing to do is get an efficient amp and efficient woofers and you'll get loud off 1k and not need any electrical upgrades.

If anyone doesnt believe me ASK KOOKYMONSTA considering hes the loudest guy here. The funny thing is Subwoofers never even had a system so thats why he doesnt know anything he goes off theory and "Facts" because he has basic knowledge on electricity any retard off the street can tell you what hes told us but it doesnt make it true.

I just dont get how I can be anymore clear I've posted videos, I've posted links to manufacturers stating what I'm stating, I've even made some pretty good explinations up as the why this is. Yet you still disagree with me this isnt a popularity contest it's car audio and I can say I know more than subwoofer 10 fold both education wise and experience wise. but w/e lol

If you were an audio installer people would be broke with nothing to show for... Safe doesnt come with a price tag it comes with knowledge and ability, if you educate people when they buy stuff then you dont have to worry about them breaking their systems. Fact is doesnt matter if their electrical is good or not the same guy that would blow shit on bad electrical would prob blow it on good electrical because they dont know any better. People think the gain knob is a volume knob and put no time and effort in their installs thats what blows systems not electrical. The only time electrical should be an issue is for people who want to go big. If someone buys 5,000$ in equipment and then gets 10,000$ electrical hes still probably going to blow his shit if you dont educate him.

i'll just point out the obvious flaw in your retarded and short sighted argument.......

HIGH OUTPUT ALTERNATOR IS NOT A STANDARDIZED UNITS OF MEASURE OF ALTERNATOR OUTPUT

THEY DON'T RECOMMEND HIGH OUTPUT ALTERNATORS SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU DRIVE THEREFORE THEY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH INFORMATION TO SUGGEST AN UPGRADE

OHMS LAW IS A SCIENTIFIC FACT NOT A "FACT". GET EDUCATED BEFORE TRYING TO THINK YOU KNOW BETTER THAN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS AND PRETTY MUCH THE ENTIRE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY.

YOU POSTED A VIDEO THAT TOOK 16 SECONDS OF PLAY TIME TO DROP HALF A VOLT...VOLTAGE DROP IS CAUSED BY THE ALTERNATOR NOT BEING ABLE TO OUTPUT ENOUGH POWER...ONCE AGAIN THIS IS A FACT.

sooo...to sum it all up....

They don't recommend it because anything from a 60a to a 150a will run that amplifier flawless they can recommend a 90a alternator or above if it's required has nothing to do with the fact "they dont know." they dont know what battery you have yet they recommend a bigger one. That shows how flawed your statement is.

My voltage may have dropped about .5 volts but I still sustained enough voltage to run my amplifier as it is not producing the power it says it's reguardless because of box rise and freq change in a song. It's irrelvent it went right back up and maintained for another 20 seconds as long as your system is doing that it's fine. I've never seen anyone blow something hitting 13.5v lmao. That song was one of my must abusive songs becuase it's a constant high note that wreaks havoc on my electrical yet barely drops.

Say what you want subwoofer but you're wrong here tell ya what I'll post on caraudio.com asking if I need alt upgrade for a DC 1.2K @ 1 ohm on a 90a alternator. We'll see my responses.
