A true system should have an outboard amplifier for all component speakers... I know people run fronts and backs off their decks all the time but you're sharing this tiny tiny power coil in the unit over all channels, and also causing more heat inside the unit. Even an external 25w x 2 amp would be better than any 50 w per channel deck that I've ever seen.
e: underpowering speakers is always worse than overpowering them. You can always turn the gain or volume down...
my front are 35/70 and backs are 75/150
was figuring using the p-400 or p-500
but i'm actually starting to think i have already damaged my 4x6's in the front off the kenwood HU im using, i notice (i dont know if i imagine it or not) like the material on the tweeter rattling
