Not really some boats go in Salt Water which corrodes metal faster some don't, water tends to get on the inside of boats which can cause corrosion, car door panels can get corrosion one of the primary problems with Solder is corrosion with or without shrinkwrap anyone knows this lmao. Solder joints break more often than Butt Crimps break.
the problem isn't the crimp breaking...the problem is the entire process is hit and miss.
my solder and shrink tube installs are uniformly reliable
"Ive had butt terminals so tight I couldnt have my friend hold the wire and me yank it out"
you however have to make specific remarks about a small batch of ones that worked well because the process has many failed attempts involved.
and since i forgot to reply to the other remarks:
do you even know what causes corrosion?
