what size speakers are you replacing?

They are Car speaker fit guide - HONDA CRX 1991

According to our database, here are the speakers types that go in your HONDA CRX 1991 car, along with their location:

Front: 6-1/2"
Rear: 6-1/2"
Front door: 6-1/2"
Rear side panel: 6-1/2"

But I know the depth of them are a HUGE thing in the RXs

They are very shallow

Looks good.

I need 2x for front 2x for back.

I wouldn't mind getting all four matching or should I get 2 different sets?

but yeah its only the 50W power from the head unit.

i wouldn't mix them. different speakers have different sound properties so mixing them can cause them to sound bad because they interfere with each other.

and ya an amp would help.

So would that require more wiring on my part?
-____- I will look into it but honestly I don't know how well that will go down in my little Rx without a lot of time invested.

I was thinking 4x of those polk audios or something similar that were pretty shallow?

if you want to amp them you'll have to rewire the speakers essentially.

they will work off your head units power for now though.

You can run more than 500 watts on almost any stock electrical system.

The newer CRX's have much more than a 90 amp alt anyway. Besides the Alt, he has his stock battery to buffer the system. If he wants to add even a bit more he can pick up another battery.

There are cheaper and MUCH more efficient options than a best-buy subwoofer.

If you want some serious thump in a small space, consider 2x Sundown 8" subs. You could power those on stock electrical and be loud as hell.
