I might not be able to do the 5" height. With the height of the sub in the box plus movement I will be close to hitting my roof.

I can't really drop it down any more since the speaker is 3 1/4" mount depth.

if you use 5/8 mdf you can drop the box down to 4.5 inches. don't worry about excursion it won't have much of it.

with 5/8 you can do:
4.5 depth
41 width
29 height

Ya imma look tomorrow and hopefully actually clip my roof into the trunk and get 100% exactly measurements to make sure it's ok.

Is there a reason for 3 cubic feet of airspace when the subs recommend 1 per?

that size is just a little over 2 cubic feet before center divider and sub displacement.

the 3 cubic feet was the size if you used the entire space. this box only uses part of the original size.

i have no clue why you would sacrifice premium sound so you can stick with a brand. nobody notices the brand when you're listening to music.

get polk components for interior and a single square kicker for the back or some JL 10s

talking about premium sound and then suggesting a square kicker sub...one of the worst sounding subs on the market.

Lol ya I'm still looking at options.

Noticed I might have room in the front of my roof for a couple conventional subs

good luck, let me know how it turns out. I'm curious as to what you can actually fit back there. I just picked up an 08 in february so i know exactly how little space you are working with
