I need everyone's opinion about boofers.

Two cheap 12s or one really nice 12?

Cheap ones would probably be two Kenwood KFC-3012s (1200/400 watt SVC woofers)

The nice one might be a RE Audio SEX-12D4 (600rms DVC woofer)
or a Kicker CVX124 (1500/750 watt DVC woofer)
or a Soundstream T5-12 (1100/900 watt DVC woofer)
or anything that anyone else might suggest =]

Note:
I am looking for really heavy, deep bass. I can put them in either a sealed box (1.5 cubes per boofer) or two different ported boesx (1.7 cubes per boofer)

Get the 2 12's, put them in ONE ported box.

With the 2 12's you have more air being moved versus the single 12.

What amp do you have?

I dont have room for a single ported box :/
I could just build a second one and plop it on the trunk.

They would either have to be back-to-back facing to the left and right sides of the trunk
or I would have to have them at the very back of the trunk facing forwards.

A single 18 has ~ the same cone area as two twelves do O_o
Maybe I should just get a nice 18" woofer and build a box for that :D

I have the Kenwood KAC-9105d (900 @ 2 ohm, 500 @ 4 ohm [rms])

Given this info I'd get the 2 Kenwoods.

And you can fit a dual 12" sealed box but not a dual 12" ported box? Doesnt make sense.

I think I am gonna stick with the Kenwoods, I might upgrade to the DVC versions though..

Why not? Ported boxes have to be like twice as big as sealed boxes do.
I think you might understand if you seen how rediculously tiny my trunk actually is :(

1993 Volkswagen Fox.
My sealed box is about 16 inches deep and I can barely get that into my trunk :(

ummmm iv always seen ported boxes smaller than sealed, maybe im strange buy my stepdad has 2 10's in his convertible mustang in a ported box and they fit and have a good foot or so on both sides, i can't even fit my box for my 10's in there and they are sealed.

Veeeery interesteing. I always look on the recommended box size specs for difference boofers and 95% of the time they recommend (IE) 1.25 sealed and 1.5 ported, or 2 sealed and 3-4 ported..

It all matters how the box is made. Maybe you should look into a shallower ported box with Rockfords Shallow Mount P3's.
