Not necessarily. You can get a nice four channel amp. Two channels for the subs and two channels for like the front crossovers/speakers.

True, you could do that.. I would just as soon get RCA splitters and use all four channels for the subwoofers though ^_^

Really depends on the amp though.

I have a buddy with a tiny ass Ford Ranger, he only has front speakers. He has a Rockford 1000.4 and runs 2 channels to each front crossover, then the other 2 to the subs. Sounds pretty damn good, plus thats like a $1700 amp.

I haven't amplified my mids yet, I just turn my lows down low and my highs up high on the deck and it has the same effect as amping the mids.
There is virtually NO distortion in my music, even at high volume levels. I do have a really nice deck though :)


Lol this deck I have (Kenwood kdc-x693) has settings that you can set exactly how far away (in feet) each speaker is from where I'm sitting.
It also has Digital Time Alignment. This one is interesteing.. You measure how far the farthest drivers are away from the center of the car,
and how far the other ones are, and you add the difference to the ones that are closer with the DTA.

This is the best picture I could find to show what I'm talking about..

Yea its pretty cool.

How much did you pay for it?

I got a x994, its got like the same shit, you can even choose the type of car you drive haha. Compact, SUV, truck, etc.

I paid 200 for mine and I'm pretty sure that I overpaid..
Yeah dude mine does that too! Is the 994 the one that has the LCD screen?
Can you change all the colors on your deck too?
Like I can make right right knob red, the screen yellow and the left side green or whatever I want, it's so dope!
Kenwood makes excellent decks imo.

Yea I can change the colors. Its got Bluetooth too, I dont think you overpaid. We sell that deck here at the place I work for 239 (with warranty).

The 994 Doesnt have an LCD Screen, its just expensive because its got iPod, AUX, and Bluetooth.

Mine has all of that as well, Windows Media Player ready, bluetooth ready, satellite radio ready, HD Radio ready, plays USB, Ipod, Aux and mp3 all this stoof.

Thing is, they sold me a used deck as new <_<
I know this for several reasons.. One wire on the back was shortened with black electrical tape residue on it,
it came with no installation kit or any of the screws,
it came with no remote, and the remote they gave me is the wrong one,
it didn't even come with a manual so they printed me one off of the interenet =[

It also only reads 50% of them mp3 CDs I put in it..
