Old Clarion shit was pretty good. But they faded pretty fast and now make nothing but shit.

Yeah, the subs still hit hard, and the head unit is still brand new looking, i think i might keep that head unit for a little while.

this is a single din HU, and it only has front and back pre outs, but there was this weird device that was like a crossover i guess for the rear outputs, and it took the bass to the subs, and the treble to the 6x9's in the back, which im converting to 6.5' components

This isn't what the topic is for but it is automobile audio related soooo...

Some fagwhore jacked my cd player and now I just have some corde sticking out where it used to be. Is there any way that I could skip buying a new cd player and just hook the 3.5mm jack on my phone straight into the stereo?

That's honestly all I'm going to use the stereo for anway :/

No.. All the wires on the back of the deak are for your speakers so the speakers know what to play.
Without all of those wires connected then nothing will work.

Probably a dumb question, but I'm planning on buying speakers, probably these: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_20607DS60/Kicker-07DS600.html?search=kicker+speakers to go with my clarion cz500 head unit.

If in the near future I buy an amp and a sub, would it still make sense to leave the speakers hooked up to the head unit, or should they hook up to the amp?

No, don't do that. You need two separate amps for mids and subs.
