So... they pound really good and im liking the SQ so far.

After about 3hours of raping my charging system something finally went out though... My amp will turn on but no output and if I turn up the stereo it just turns off the amp....

Hoping its just the cheap fuse fucking up again having way to much resistance but im not sure.

If its not one thing its another

Cant edit....

Pretty sure its the fuse.. Dont think its blown all the way just melted part of the solder or w/e and is barely letting and voltage through... will check it with my multimeter after work

Ok so im a little surprised and quite pissed. One of the voice coils in one of the subs went out after a few hours of play. Im not even close to the rated power and it went out. Im told factory defects like this arent at all uncommon but its BS it took 2+ weeks to get here now I gotta send them back. Im trying to work it so I can pick up new ones locally and just send these back so I dont have to wait..

considering the voltage drops i wouldn't assume the only issue was a manufacturing one.

if you had the amp clipping pretty bad then thats probably the problem.

Idk... I checked my voltage drop and its not like its getting to 10volts or anything... I have a 120amp alt and I rev the car to about 1500rpm anytime I turned the gain up past 1/2 way to make sure my alt is able to put out its max power. There is visible dimming in my dome lights but thats about it. The system sounded loud and clean as fuck.. no clipping what so ever that i could tell (I know its not always completely audible)

I was doing some research and from what I can tell the thing would have to be dipping to like 8 or 9 volts to cause a prob and then my amp would just turn off anyways..

Im super fucking frustrated at this point.. I have to further diagnose it then mail back the one defective sub and wait for them to confirm its defective, etc.

Ok so the audio shop I went to for the install is obviously full retard... After all this bullshit I ended up diagnosing it myself and its for damn not the subs...

Checked RCAs, power, ground, fuses, etc. etc. etc. etc.

Now all the sudden I hook it back up and it works fine. I know its a matter of time before it fucks up again and it better not fuck my subs up..

IMO is HAS to be an amp issue which is what I originally thought but the dude at the stereo shop was 100% sure it was blown voice coils in my subs

Fucking idiots :wallbash:

Ya im more than a little pissed... Gonna make sure their Yelp page reflects what idiots they are. With as much $$ as I spent on install and parts with them you would think they would at least wanna half ass help me get it working properly.

Anyways I am very happy with the overall sound from the system just need to figure out what the fuck is wrong and why it messed up before. I am assuimg because im pushing that amp pretty hard @ 1 ohm that something internal got hot and fucked up but im not very versed in the inter workings of car amplifiers.

Edit-- I should just sell this amp while its still working and go with what I originally wanted the SAZ1200...

did you buy the amp from them and have them install it? if so definitely get your money back since it pretty much guarantees that any damage=their fault before or after the install.

could also go q1.1200d and save yourself some money.
