His car will run 1100w RMS fine without a problem as long as he doesnt sit there and idle full tilt for an hour... and he lives in Canada he can't buy the stuff off the sites we do like we do shipping is atrocious and this is why he is where he is. My advice find a Canadian site that sells this stuff or an american site that ships cheap. Also installing a head unit and door speakers does not take 35 minutes i'd hate to any install where it took the person that long, most installs full installs take upwards of 8 hours to do properly.

Personally $400 extra for 15's is NOT worth it and that amplifier is NOT worth it. Grab a nice Alpine MRP 1000 and pair the subwoofers up on that. I can design you a box with cut sheets and 3D pictures if you wish to attemptit yourself.

Honestly 1500 for Wiring, Head Unit, Enclosure, 2 12" Type S's, Wiring Harness/Kit, Amplifier and Labor isn't bad at all for Canada. My shop charges about that and its in the U.S. Like I said an install like that is about 8 hours @ 65 an hour = $520 just in Labor so you're basically paying $1000 for the equipment.

I would swap out that 4 channel though for either a good 5 channel or a monoblock to runt he subwoofers or else they will basically be quiet as hell.

do you even know his cars make/model? since he hasn't told me and it looks like a tiny little econobox its safe to say its alternator is a bare minimum output alternator. basic math is all it takes to find out if your electrical system can handle that much power draw.

8 hours of work? where?!?!? i've done cars that size with basic setups like this in 3 hours and i felt like i was being really lazy taking that long.

and we've been over the amp thing. he linked the wrong one. either way i wouldn't pay the price alpine wants for their mediocre amps.

I've decided to go with the 15's because I'm spending this much as it is, might as well make it hit hard.
I am doing the installs myself now. They told me it would cost about 250$ for install. So it saves me money this way.

@Subwoofer. You just posted a link to a bunch of pioneer head units. I wanna know which one has best sound quality output so I can get good mid's and High's out of my speakers.

Can anyone post a guide to installing a system. I mean everything is fairly basic and easy except the amp. That's going to be the hardest part.

Most professional installers take 6-8 hours to do a full install depending on vehicle and things needed to be done. I'd hate to see your installs if they only take 3 hours o.O as far as the alternator I've used a 60a on a 1.2K DC amplifier and barely dropped below 13v ever. Infact my jeep had a 90a and it never dropped below 13.8v. Alpine amplifiers aren't mediocre by any means the MRP's werent great but the MRX's and the PDX's are really nice digital amplifiers.

To each their own but in the real world it doesnt cost pennies and seconds to do an install thats why they pay professionals like myself $18 an hour to do it.

I'm telling you your alternator will handle 1k fine if worse comes worse add big III and deep cycle in the future for less dimming/more stability. Pioneer makes great headunits look for 4v preouts and 3 rca outputs etc. base RMS would be good if you dont want to run a 4 channel.

and i'm telling you to learn how electricity works.

and what i'm telling you isn't my opinion..its fact. if you are drawing more power than your electrical system creates you drain your batteries, voltage drops, everything suffers and then you end up broke down either because you burned out the alternator and/or turned the car off only to find out the batteries are too drained to start it back.

that's just how electricity works.

Yea just found out my alternator can only run about 48 amps of electricity. Which means I gotta get new amp and run new wires. Awesome.
