Would it be worth the try to amp the speakers?
not really.
you could amp them but there is no telling how long they'd last.

What would I be looking at for new speakers. 4x 6.5 using less than 80 amps. (old alt was 80 amps but it died and went a salvage yard for a cheap, did notice it was a little bit smaller than the original.
I'm probably asking too much but if I didn't go with sub and amp and upped the speakers, are there speakers with good bass out the midwoofer. I wouldn't be surprised if im dreaming

you won't get very good bass out of them. they're frequency range is much higher than the subwoofer and they have far less surface area.
low end bass requires a subwoofer.
you can get better speakers with higher powered midbass but with your budget and power limitations you'd be better off just going with the original setup.
if you want to get some speakers to amp

however this would end up drawing around 60 amps which may cause you problems.
if you want to avoid the potential problem get a lower powered sub setup like
