i have all batteries connected in parallel so pos to pos neg to neg across the line

Ok so i talked to a few people that have hydraulics and battery banks with gel batteries.
they said it doesnt have to be an agm. they recommended ctek.

And they said definately trickle charge is the most efficient and healthier for your batteries.
I can see the point in it. The low voltage slow method would be easier for the batteries to lvl off instead of just blasting whichever one you had the charger hooked up to.
and you would want to charge the first and last battery with one end being positive and the other negative. Gotta get that current movin

thanks for the info, and yes i talked with someone today as well and they said the charger doesn't "have" to be agm capable but it puts out a more stable charge

i changed the shit bat up front and swapped one of the agm's in back so im running 3 agms in back and 1 agm up front so im all in sync

Nice bro. i also ran into a red top user. He says red is good but its easier on your alternator and stabalizes better to use as starting battery to have 1 yellow up front and he drew me a picture of a device he fabricated himself that you may find useful.
a line deadener as he put it. look simple enough to build from parts at lowes. would be sweet to be able to cut off your batteries in emergency or just for daily driving. I will post u a pic if i can snag him again. basicaly a switch to kill the connectoin between batteries. he said that his alternator has gone out a few times so when he sees his electrical draining to much he cuts the rear bank off so he doesnt strain the alternator until he can figure out what the issue is.

I actually thought about designing a board with a shutoff switch that the rear bats are connected to, i just didnt know exactly how to relay it correctly.

And i figured it was better to keep them on some charger even when not in use so they don't lose life.
