How an alternator works:



Lets look at an example...120 alternator with a 20 amp load (with stereo off)...add another battery that adds an additional 5 amp load (pick a number). Add 10 batteries, that's an additional 50 amp load, etc. Lets say your stereo system draws 100 amps...before with 1 battery you were fine. You add another battery to help with voltage drops, but you also put too great a load on your system and now that additional 5, 50, etc amps going towards charging a battery means you cannot power your amp as much as you could previously.

Also, using additional batteries to compensate for voltage drops means that the alternator has to spend more time charging those batteries.

Furthermore, alternators regulate the voltage in a system (described above)...so a battery doesn't add more power to your amps (this is a ridiculous assertion)...it provides short term voltage drop compensation in a system with an underpowered alternator, but it does not "give amps more power"...as it does not provide more amperage. Will an additional battery help regulate short term voltage drops? Yes. Does it provide an amp with "more power"? No.

Stable voltage does not provide more power (amps) to your amp. A good alternator/voltage regulator will correct for minor voltage drops anyways. Not sure where you get off saying I don't have a system worth keeping. I'm running a full last gen Pioneer Premier system...basically all the PRS components that Pioneer rebranded to Stage 4 for the current gen.

Also...Pioneer did make a triple voice coil Premier sub a couple years ago that set the world SPL record.

Also, more batteries = more amperage going to charging said multiple batteries = less power to your amps (subtract amp x voltage going to charging your battery). Dumbass.
