Yes, but more batteries add more strain on the system (every extra battery = extra resistance and an additional load on the charging system).
Having an efficient battery is one thing...having too many is another.
Again, unless you're designing a competitive SPL system, you really do not need more than 1, good (read: Optima) battery.
