I just want to let people know that bass is omnidirectional, you don't need 2 to get 'stereo bass' and you can save a lot of money spending a little bit more on 1 nice sub (versus buying 2 cheap ones) and get equal if not better performance. And half the box too.

unhook 1 sub if you have two . i just tried this with 2 x 350 rms 3000 max tens dvs wired at 2 4 and 8 ohms on 13.4 volts running two j/l 1000 1 to each then both to one. then again with 2 dc 12's then again with 2 jl 13w7's.
excursion raised an avereage of 10% on the avaerage compared to 10% less excursion and double the suface area. so im not gonna do the math but 110% vs roughly 180% of movement is obvious.

now i'm curious about how to tune my speakers in my car
my front 4x6's are 90 - 22,000 Hz
and my rear 6x9's are 60 - 22,000 Hz
i'm just wonder about how i should have my speakers setup as far as the built in crossover in my KIV-900

i have my front set at 80 Hz with -24db and my rear at 80 Hz with - 6db

and i haven't messed with the DTA settting yet: Digital Time Alignment (DTA): Choose from 0.00 to 14.44 feet for the Front pair of speakers, Rear pair of speakers, and Subwoofer distances in reference to the distance between your listening positioning and the locations of the particular speakers.
is that in relation how for the speakers are from me?

if you have all that mapped out. use the ear trick. you can skip alot of the lower frequencies on ur mids and it will sound cleaner. try using the decks 100hrz upper lvl. 10;s are so loud and punchy you can actually skip those lower frequencies. i know it sounds false but listen to it. if you have time to dink around with a quarter wave box maybe ay 34 hz. easy build as long as you keep port size = to speaker surface area. with my tens its so loud i skip up to 120 without skipping a beat. with a stereo tuned properly you really dont need to fill in the spaces your senses will do it for you. If you have an open cab build or in the trunk start at lowest lpf on ur sub amp then move up. i promise you will be happy. 10's =sq for a reason

Problem with multiple subs...

600 watt amp @ 4 ohms bridged

You buy 2 10's with 2 ohm coils (or dvc 4 ohms)

You wire it to a total of 4 ohms...

300 watts per driver

You buy 1 10 with a 4 ohm coil (or 2 ohm dvc)

You wire it in 4 ohms...

600 watts per driver

Physically that 1 10 with twice the power equals the output of 2 10's with half power to each.

1 sub for the win!

2 subs running a the same power should be louder than 1.

his dumb main point was.

1sub@rms power vs 2 subs underpowered 50% is the same output, but who the fuck would do that?!

thats what i said. idk why he thinks people would buy 2 higher power more expensive subs just to run them at half rms :/

Because the world is full of idiots. Don't tell me you've never seen someone with a 1000w rms $500 sub, and then get a 1000w rockwood (50w rms~) to run it.
