Everything is equally important, except, its really not, everything depends on your amp.

youre wires depend on your amps power. what gauge according to wattage
your box design will depend on your subs
your subs will depend on your amp

im not going to post anymore, because its pointless to argue opinions with facts


take the best box, best wiring job, best installation best blah blah blah, it will be jack isht without a good amp
if your amp isnt appropriate for your equipment, its a waste of time
some people are fine with trash, some people like quality.



whats a awesome computer with a crap processor = garbage
whats a awesome system setup with a crap amp = garbage


stop making this kid beleive a ported box will affect the sound more than the amp he has running

whats the amp without a sub? whats the sub without the box?

they all fit the same puzzle to complete it. you need it ALL to work together not a single part to be held above all others.

poor box=poor sub performance. you can throw any sub and amp together you want but in a improper box you will destroy both of them.


ill just go ahead and cut off the argument at its root...without a good power supply the amp can't function.

you making him focus on the amp above other things and you mess up his ability to paint the entire picture by making him focus on a corner.

Well this thread got a lot of topic. But thanks to all who answered my question. I'm only going to have my setup for a couple years until i join the military so it's really not that big of a deal to me lol. Just need something to keep me busy / expanding my knowledge for the time being. Later, ill upgrade to a better system when I can get a better car.

You can have the best amp, subs, wiring, head unit, etc. But if you use a shitty box it wont even matter what brand shit you have. And nobody is saying a box is more important than an amp. Learn to read dubmass, we're saying its just as important as the next thing.
