Question; would one JL 13w7 in a ported box wang harder in my trunk than 2x Kenwood 3012s in a sealed box if I pushed either setup with my Kenwood 9105D amplifier?

I'm not a big fan of Kenwood subwoofers. But think of is this way.

a 13" sub pushes only so much air, yea its a better sub, but 2 12" subs push more air than a single 13. plus if you got the w7 i suggest a new amp.

I really do think you should tell him there's no way youre gonna pay that much for a used amp. I sent you a link that i think you may find helpful ;)
I have been looking at that amp and I'm pretty sure it's almost perfect for those subs, and the reviews are pretty good too..

I got it for 350 + 2x 12'' custom made 6'' ported box worth well over 150$, I found out the amps brand new still in box (they had 2, wired the new one wrong and blew it... sent it back in and this one came in 2 weeks ago - there sponsered by a audio company that just paided out their system, thats the reason they sold it to me, so all in all i think its a good deal)

Ive been getting reveiws from different sites.
its 3000 max rms divded into 2x subs at 2ohm, so the type r's are 1500rms max... this amp will push perfect current to both subs and this system is going to pound.

I still dont know how ill be getting 1500rms at each of my subs when retailers say type r's can only push out 600rms, but i guess at 2 ohm, thats double for 1200rms and a bit more for max since this amp pushes out nice clean quality sound.

Ill get a video on yuotube in the next couple weeks and let you know how it sounds.

All i need is 15ft of 0 gauge wire - 2-5$ a foot. (running with 8 gauge atm and its to skinny for the power this amps pushes out) then a send SWR-1222D 12'' type r 2ohm (went and met two ppl last night and they both had the SWR-1242 12'' type r at 4ohm which isnt my requirement, but they were selling for 150$... hopefully i find my 2ohm at 100-150 and ill be laughing.

No it won't dude! Those subwoofers are 1500 watts MAX, they only have 600rms (300 per coil)!
You have to wire them how I told you, anything else will explode your subwoofers =(

Vouch. Unless he has the older Type R's which are only 500rms, 250 per coil.

I dont know why my buddies giving me this information... clearly im beleiving him mainly because hes sponsered and knows what hes talking about....
Why are random people telling me i can get 1500rms out of these, i know it doesnt make sense since they max at 600rms wether is clean quality or not.

If you were to argue with him, what would you say/ask?

Now compare this to the amplifiers stats(post the amp's stats up), the amp>subs if the amilifier actually does 1500 rms peak 1x sub 2ohm'd (or 3000 rms peak at 2x sub 2 ohm'd).
Im with you on this, most definitly... the specs tell it all, but my buddy/randoms say theres a way to bridge them to up the power at
1200-1500 rms peak without them blowing.

@ Avoid, Correct 1243's... ive got 1242's stuck in my head for some reason, thos are 4 ohm 600 rms peak 1500-1600 watt peak.

I'm in need of some assistance so, anyone possibly help me out?

I've got a 1000W @ 1Ohm Mono amp (http://www.ddaudio.com/amp/09/amp09CM1.htm) and two Dual 2Ohm 10" Subs (http://www.dealercostcaraudio.com/d310d22.aspx)
Now, the whole wiring them together changing the ohms is still confusing to me...so I was hoping, how should I wire these up?
Run the amps [+] to the [+] on (Sub 1) and series both those coils, then series in the second sub and it's two coils, taking the vinal [-] terminal to the amps ground?
I believe I read somewhere about bridging them together...all [+] to the amps [+] and all [-] to the amps ground lead...
Would that work well or are there better ways?
The whole deal just confuses me, with all the variations.

I appreciate the help, let me know if you need more information...
