The fact that you run Type R's and 3 sets of JL components tuned by some dumbass judge and think your setup is SQ baffles me.

And in theory, if I just cranked the amp up and it's clipping,
aren't I actually putting out MORE wattage than intended?

Indeed which means your subs sound like a pile of junk I'm sure of it lol soon they will fail mechanically don't worry doesn't always have to be thermal.
