The fact that you still think this has anything to do with car audio is laughable. I'll nip this in the bud by saying yes, car audio professionals use MP3's. Noted, moving on to something that actually matters.
This is a discussion about the quality lost in converting an uncompressed audio file into a compressed audio file. What area of expertise do the following terms fall into? Compression algorithms, digital conversion,
bit rate, file extensions. Still think we're discussing something you have a clue about?
MP3's are fine for audio competitions for the following reasons: No skipping, frequencies above 20 hz are kept intact just enough to capture nearly all of the lows, quality in highs doesn't matter. All this being said,
you're partially right. The quality loss in MP3's doesn't effect the audio competition aspect because the loss isn't enough to outweigh the ease of use. The only part you're wrong in is that the sound quality loss is
inaudible. It's extremely noticeable, in fact it down right sounds like shit compared to .WAV .AAC etc. The biggest loss is taken in the higher frequencies. Go rip an MP3 of some acoustic guitar with a singer and tell
me it sounds good, I'll call you out on your lack of knowledge.
You claim to be a nice guy and come off as a pompous ass right after introducing yourself. Fall back.
The discussions was not on Quality at all it was on loudness and numbers and audible hearing... Regardless I MEANT to be an ass towards you since you spew so much random stupid bullshit, but not towards Avoid or Subwoofer. Some people just don't understand things they havn't tested and believe strickly what they've read. Anyone with half abrain can tell you WAV is better than MP3 but not to the extent that some have mentioned it's just not true. You can spew all the shit you want man I still think you're a car audio novice no matter what degree you have.
and personally if WAV/MP3 is audible I'd suggest resetting your filters and re-adjusting gains or getting better equipment than the crap you're running... Because you don't have a SQ setup or anywhere near one or just burning better mp3's and not using 128rate other than that yeah you're a noob gfg..
