but yeah insurance is fine just never rely on fuses as your primary fail safe

ive never blown a single fuse on any power wire unless I was trying to draw too much current. if you blow a 300 amp fuse then your doing it wrong

what im saying is THEY DONT ALWAYS BLOW i.e. 90% of the shit people buy today are time delay so by the time it blows your jacket/wire is already too hot/melting in spots

wasnt directing it towards anyone. just sayin my experiences. but I go to great lengths on my instals to make sure everything is above and beyond perfect.. and I never abuse my shit.. everything has a limit and I try and stay below it. I dont compete so theres no need to find out what it can take. I used to abuse it when I first started but that was rookie shit

abuse is subject to opinion i wang on my shit all day but as your stated i dont go past the point. i.e. clipping/mechanical limit

i beat mine up pretty bad too but nothing it cant handle

Those wires are ok for a 300 watter your ground is the problem... NEVER EVER get the ground from a painted surface always strip the paint around your bolt.

Edit: settings have nothing to do with it, you can run ANY amp all day with fucked up settings and it wont hurt the amp might hurt the subs, but not the amp at all, it will do it's job regardless. turning the gain up doesn't mean that you are pulling more power out of the amp, it just means that if you turn it up you will get to the peak power faster with a lower signal input.

Gain low - volume high: clean headroom

Gain hi - volume low: clipping/distortion
