think about this from an electricians point of view:
(the short version)
0.02ohm is industry standard and is acceptable as most connections are 0.02 ohm
anything over 0.02 ohms is a bad connection
you will have about 6-8 connections in the circuit (from the battery back to the battery)
6 connections @ 0.02ohms = 0.12ohms
12v X 0.12ohms = a voltage drop of 1.44 volts = 10.66volts
14v X 0.12ohms = a voltage drop of 1.68 volts = 12.32volts
8 connections @ 0.02ohms = 0.16ohms
12v X 0.16ohms = a voltage drop of 1.92 volts = 10.08volts
14v X 0.16ohms = a voltage drop of 2.24 volts = 11.76volts
all of a sudden your down to 10v on a low battery
this becomes worse if your connections are more than 0.02 ohms
what voltage can your amp actually run at? probably not 10volts
what im trying to say is just because it worked befor doesnt mean its right and you should listen to the people trying to help you
you have a bad connection some where wether its at the earth or else where
my advise:
invest in a multimeter and learn how to use one (learn basic ohms law)
maybe you should actually fasten the sub down and and redo all your old connections
solder is your best friend at most joins and even on lugs if you want the BEST connection. just because its crimped doesnt mean is a good connection
earths can crap out over time. all it takes is a lil bit of moisture for rust to form and believe me sometimes it doesnt take much rust for an earth to fail
it may not be a connection at all and rather your rca's or something else
if the amp is on and not producing sound look at the rca's and the speeker/sub cables/connections
if the amp isnt on you have a connection problem somewhere causing a voltage drop or the amp remote wire is damaged (previous posts have explained how to check this)
