ok thanks. only issue, is i remember my mechanic telling me how hes seen alot of people with new audio systems that require a new, much better battery, and even with the new battery, the new audio equipment messes with the electrical stuff in the car? is this even possible ?

It all depends on how much your stock alternator output is, how much power you are drawing, if you have adequate gauge wiring, etc. etc.

There is TONS of info about this on the web but you will need to findout some info on your car first before you can have a good idea of how much power you can run without an issue.

Generally speaking if you are under 1000 actual watts you "should be fine" with a stock electrical system

true, i run a 3000d on 2 12's and a 1000 watt amp for my doors im puling probably 3500 watts rms in order to do something like that youll have to buy a car audio battery for your hood and trunk , bigger high output alternator, and change the wires from your alt to ground and chassis and run power wire from alt to the amp. all in zero guage,

if you dont youll end up zapping your alt fast and possibly ruining your amp and other electrical things . new alt like that costed me $500, 2 batteries were like 500, and the big 3 upgrade was probably another 50 or more. but if your under 1000 like killer said you shouldnt have any problem.

if your on a budget you can find good car audio for cheap. dont be worried about what people say about your gear, its not theirs its yours and youll get things preferenced on your liking not theirs. you could get some american bass xd's 900 watts a piece and run it on a mbquart 1000.1 amp and be under $350 possibly throw in a prefab box if your not to worried on "perfect" sound of bass for like $75 buy the wiring offline not at a car audio store or in pre packaged wire kit bundles, youll get raped on charges by the foot.
