lol yeah i was lazy i did the speakers myself which was easy as it gets. but wasnt in the mood to figure out the deck as well -.-

ya i was just saying that it's sad when professional work can be done better by someone with only 5 minutes of research done on the subject.

i don't really blame anyone for not wanting to deal with it themselves especially if you care about the warranty.

Lol butt connector crimping is professional no shops solder and shrink wrap everything. Shit like that takes more time thats not needed causing the customer to pay more and less to be done in a day. It would be dumn to do such things when butt connectors r fine

the entire point of having a shop is to have specialized tools and techniques that a regular consume doesn't have access to.

that's the difference between a rattle can paint job in an open air environment and a paint job done with high quality paint and paint guns in a paint booth.

No the entire point to having a shop is to make money whioe doing sufficient installs shrink wrapping and soldering a wire harness is a complete waste of time youre bashing shops for the sake of it. Call up ten shops and tell me how many do this methed. Its a waste of time and isnt needed. Theres more to being a professional than that id love to see u wire up electric start in an audi or install a headunit in a mini cooper or bmw bet itd take u a week to fgure out wat i do in 4 hours. Knowing what cars need what an how to do it makes us professionaks not going a step above when not needed and wasting ours and thr customers time. Ud suck at audio installs for a living js

I have worked at two different shops, one where we used crimp connectors and one where we solder and tape every connection.
When I use crimp connectors and there's a problem the first thing we do is "Check the connections!"
Soldering is superior to ANY kind of crimp connectors, t-taps or garbage butt-connectors. Period.

If you were building a metal mount for something on your car, would you want it screwed together or welded? I think the answer is obvious...

/edit. as for crimp connectors being a faster install from a shop??? You've got to be a mindless parrot to think that using bullshit plastic connectors will save you time compared to soldering the wires!
Why in the fuck would I want to use shitty ass connectors that are going to come loose later and have to redo my install 2-3 times??

your common sense and concern for long term reliability are lost on him.

people like him are why i try to tell people to do the work themselves because 90% of shops do half ass work.
