For 1,500 you could easily go with something like 2 p3 15" Rockford Fosgate subwoofers - $320 for the pair. I believe these are 600 watt rms? So go with a 1,200 Watt rms amp
Class D mono blocks is usually what i go with, amp is around $180, mine is a hifi. I know hifi is on "the low end" but compared to my MTX Jackhammer, Alpine, and Kenwood amps that I've had. I love my Hifi... Then you just put the cost of the Alternator in there which is probably around $200... So $700 for components which isn't bad.. Build a box $40 or Buy a box from someone who custom builds it $200+ then you just need the wiring kits (if you can install the wires awesome you saved yourself $100!) then you just need an aftermarket deck which you have a choice of double din or not. Double din are often the big ass decks that play movies on and what not (overkill) go with a basic deck for around $100 - $200, bluetooth is a nice option on those but is not needed.. Total what i stated here is around... $1,100 - $1,300. (YOU SAVE A TON OF MONEY IF YOU INSTALL + BUILD YOURSELF)
easy mode for basic I or L port boxes. without knowing what you are doing constructing the box you are wasting your time because it'll probably flex apart in the first week.
while true at its core you don't need to tune it to 20hz to play 20hz. you can play half an octave below the boxes tuning frequency safely so you can play 20hz on a box tuned to 26.5-ish hertz safely. if you tune a box @20hz for music you are doing it wrong.
1200rms=83 amps so if thats the build you have in mind why were you saying he would need more than a 150 amp alternator?
hifi is fine if you aren't big into sound quality. for budget amps they are fine assuming you don't get their lowest tier stuff. pretty much the same thing i have to say about the rest of the brands you mentioned since its all entry level stuff.
the alternator is going to be more around $450. dc power has a 180 amp at that price. while i'm sure you'll google and find some random $200 one i'll just point out there is a reason why these more expensive alternators exist...because they are much better than that crap.
so again i just need to know if he is capable of building a box so i can find out how much of this budget is going to be spent on paying someone else to do the work.
