Yeah that's why I was hoping there was a way to test with a dmm if it's producing signal out of the amp just to make sure its dead before I buy a new one.

It's probably not worth attempting to have it serviced since it wasn't a very expensive amp to begin with

it has a power and protect light on the amp...if neither is lighting up the only solution is to get a circuit diagram for that amp and start testing piece by piece.

mb quart still has cheap amp models in your power range like the fx1.600 or the oa500.1.

Protect light does not come on, power light comes on as it should.

check the rcas, ground, internal box wiring then. i'd figure this is a wiring problem more than an amp problem.

I have tried a different rca cable, still nothing. I scraped the paint off the ground til it was bare metal and used self tapping screws for a solid connection. The speaker wiring inside the box is fine.

I only have one sub and one amp. I could try borrowing one but it wouldn't be any time soon.
