caps and second batteries are pretty much useless for daily use systems. if you are overdrawing your alternators output its going to end badly it doesn't matter if you have a 2nd battery or a capacitor at this point because relying on battery power is bad.
also adding a second battery adds a static load to your alternator which eats a few amps off its total output which is a bad thing if you are already overdrawing your alternator.
watts/14.4=amps. this equation will give you a general estimate of the amperage you need to run it. you then need to add another 30-40 amps if you have a newer car just for its basic things like engine electrical components and lights.
if your alternator can't put out the power you need there is only 1 fix..a higher output alternator. you can get your current alternator rebuilt and probably get another 20-30 amps out of it but if you need more than that its probably time for a brand new high output one.
