i went ahead and linked a new wiring kit. any idea on what gauge wire that already installed one is?

I took a look in the trunk of the car it still has all the hook ups for an amp and box. I believe it's a weak 8gauge wire. I also plan on building my own box

might wanna price the materials before deciding to build it yourself. at best you'll probably save $10 but have to do a lot of extra work. just not worth doing until you have something that requires a custom built box imo.

grab the knukonceptz wiring kit i linked and rewire it as well. no use in using junk wire when $27 is nothing in the long run.

If I put in an extra 200 into a setup would that bring me better quality? I'm sure I just asked a a stupid question.
Difference between 10in and 12in. Should I go sealed or ported if I listen to rock/heavy metal/and dubstep like skrillex, flux pav. Bassnectar.

you could get better mids/highs but as for the sub/amp its pretty much staying at that level because you can't run anything more powerful without an alternator upgrade.

difference between a 12 and 10 is literally just 2 inches. that 2 inches gets you a tiny bit louder but thats it.

if you're buying prebuilt and listen to lots of different music genres just go sealed. ported will also work its just that its tuning frequency will be low which doesn't do you any favors with rock/metal music.

did you already buy the stuff i listed before? if not you can possibly get amp+2 better speaker sets.

also you might wanna just grab that first setup then spend the extra on sound deadening material. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_27741_Stinger-RKX36B.html

i forgot you were using an old cheap head unit.

spend the extra on a new head unit and a little bit of sound deadening material for your trunk area.
