having problems locating an aftermarking wiring harness so you may just have to do direct wiring on it.

this should have everything you would need to do the wiring. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/es300-and-es330/210521-how-to-install-an-aftermarket-stereo-headunit-in-a-lexus-es300.html

its basically just matching wires up and connecting them...everything labeled so unless you can't read you should be able to do all the wiring stuff in 10 minutes or less.

i would suggest you do this install yourself...not only because its fairly easy and saves you $200...but because it will open your eyes up to just how simple the stuff places like that charge you out the ass for so you won't be scared to install the next things you get.

only thing you can possibly screw up on is shorting out wires...avoid this by unhooking your cars battery until the wiring is all done and you are ready to test the radio.

You have been extremely helpful, and I want to thank you. Would you recommend buying from sonicelectronix? If so if you would be able to link me to everything I'll need including the receiver it would just make me feel sure about what I am getting

yea sonic is a good place to order stuff.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_63979_Pioneer-AVH-X3500BHS.html the head unit

the only other thing you would generally buy is a wiring harness but that doesn't appear to be an option on this one.

something you might want to buy so you can have an easier time wiring it would be some extra wire. http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=TCA14Cjust put 20 in that QTY box. that'll be 20 feet of it.

you have to admit they are pretty ridiculous sometimes though.

like im not going to buy from my local shop because they charge $400 for amps i can go online and get for half that.

and its ridiculous to charge more than best buy for installs. if you aren't going to be reasonable/competitive you deserve to lose business.

Well this is true. Most of the time we're more than willing to meet or compete with the price of products and installs found elsewhere but I also work at the best shop in town and we take pride in our work. If you want the shit done for cheap then fuck you take it to best buy and have it installed with t-taps and butt connectors!
That's how I feel about it.
At the same time I don't care, at all. I'll do the shit for as cheap as I can just to make you my customer instead of our competitor's.

Edit: We get paid because we can do the work, not because we can sell the product.

Why would I pay you to do the work when I can do the work.

they do work okay for most does work fine but soldering is superior.

not saying everyone should solder because its so damn easy to screw up unless you already know how to do it or practice a lot with some spare wire.
