Well let me see if I can help out a bit. What would you do if you had my car. I gave you 5 grand and said amaze me.

let me say one thing that is a must if i was going to go all out.

you will have to remove everything from your interior and use sound deadening material all over the inside of the body. roof/doors/floor/engine firewall etc. this is very much worth doing but its kind of a turn off if you have a newer car since no one wants to rip their car apart they just got lol.

for a daily use setup $5k is overkill without custom fiberglass work+very nice head unit.

honestly i'd of been able to help you instantly if you were spending $1k but $5k allows for so many possibilities other than just throwing a sub box in the trunk and mounting the speakers in your regular ol door holes.

the essentials: h/o alternator, sound deadening for at least the trunk, custom box(fiberglass would make it look nice), lots of 0 gauge wiring.

as far as hardware goes its really more like "kid in a candy shop" so this is going to be a thinker lol. i feel like for you $5k is really overkill unless you feel like going to competitions lol.

have you picked out a shop to do the install yet? if not shop around and see who can offer you the most custom work for this because you should be able to make it very nice cosmetically and well and sound amazing.

lol see how much i've already said and we haven't even got started? lol sooo many ways to go with this its unreal.

for the budget i seeing it going something like this:
alternator upgrade $500-600
subs $400 per sub(if 2) probably $600-700 if single
box $400-500
speakers $1k or so
amps $1k or so.
head unit $600-700
wiring $150-200

rough estimate and the speakers/amps is really up in the air. lots of choices in those areas so hard to say right now it could be 600 per isntead of 1k per.

i really dont think you need all the power im trying to throw in this build since it'll most likely be completely unbearable for more than a few secs lol.

Lol yeah I see where your coming from and I have a few shops in mind right now but I work offshore so it's hard for me to find time to go sit down and talk to them. That's why I posted here because I've read alot of your posts and figured you would be able to help me out :) But so far I'm liking your budget distribution. Just keep going :P

Should of started off with this:

1: What is the Year, Make, and Model of the vehicle.
2: What is your budget?
3: What exactly do you want your outcome to be? (Good sounding music, or loud bass?)
4: And specific sub sizes that you prefer more than others?
5: How much trunk space do you want to use up?
6: What type of features are you looking for in a CD Player (aka Head Unit)? (Ex: USB, AUX, BlueTooth, etc)
7: What type of music do you listen to?
8: Is your stock stereo system amplified? (You may or may not know this)
9: Do you have Steering Wheel Controls? (Volume/Seek on the steering wheel)
