that sale isn't bad if you want to resale the tweeters that come with the 6.5s or 6x8 coaxials. infinity is usually good quality/sound stuff so nothing to lose really.

kind of sucks your 2nd set is predetermined but heh free is free.

i looked at other forums, people with 2012 mazda 3 ( essentially same speakers ) used 6x8 component set in front.

pretty interested in that one, looks nice. now it says 150w per set, 75w per side. does that mean per pair of mid+tweeter is 75 watt?

i'm pretty tempted to get this + a MB quart amp to fit accordingly. won't be getting for a few weeks though.

total they ned 75rms per set. they use the same power source its just they aren't built into 1 piece.

the only thing about components is you're going to need to find a place to mount the tweeters. also if you want to go components go 6.5s because they have a larger market available.

so 6.5" instead of 6x8? they will still fit? i think i might have seen something online about someone with a newer mazda 3 with 6.5", not 100% though


i totally dig the 6x8 JL set i linked, i'll take a look at some 6.5's though. they any different as far as like base or anything?

you use adapter plates to make them fit. these plates generally have a tweeter mount as well.

I have kicker subs.
2 12" CVR's in a 32hz ported box custom for them...
I got them at a liquidation sale for $115. I couldn't complain about the price, but you get what you pay for.

They sound clean, but they are by no means "loud". They do the job for my daily driver, but nothing near what I was actually looking for.

My advice, save up some more cash and get something better.
They are nice, but like subwoofer said... They are entry level subs.

Unless you have a massive Tahoe/Yukon and are going to put 4+ 18" L7's or Solo-X's and have all the upgrades necessary.
But still, could get much better for the money you'd have to dump into it.

thanks ill keep in mind, not looking for subs right now though. not a big bass person, gonna see how much clear bass i get from the door speakers.

He is legit pro when it comes to it.
Found me some slammin' Rockford Fosgate 6-1/2's and 6x9's, all 4 for 100 bucks.
I'd advise going with what he says and/or similar.

And with the Kicker subwoofer set I said... That would involve having to put thou$$$$$ands into upgrades/wiring/gear/setup. Not in my dreams ;P
