What would a good sub/amp be for my budget of 1000 ill go (that's 1000 for everything not just sub/amp),  I noticed the wireharness only went to 2005, my trucks 2006, does it really matter or would I have to get one to date. The speakers you labled as "great" had good reviews I'd be willing to go for those. Old antenna cord don't fit those head units eh?

id be sure to make sure your year model is specifically covered by the wiring harness. i dont know enough about 2005-2006 differences to be sure but its possible something changed.

for the sub how loud are you wanting to go?

good thing you have a newer model the 1996 ranger along with some explorers or expeditions (cant remember exactly) had factory amps that were a bitch to bypass. And honestly a lot of factory speakers sound fantastic until they blow, which is very inevitable because of the paper cones so yeah theyre completely right focus on swapping those out, but thats cheap and any sub will be better than no sub when youre listening to dubstep =] just hooked up a little rockford fosgate 300w single 10" and that was like $200 total with everything even wires

There's better products out there of course, I was trying to stay within your budget =]
I really do think that box will blow apart. Prefab boxes aren't built to handle 1000w with one sub haha.

Are you getting one or two pairs of speakers?

his truck only has a 95 amp alternator so hes not going to be able to run 1000rms either way.
