think about how you use batteries in a flashlight...you use them until the flashlight dims and stops working right? going to work the same way in your car if your alternator isn't powerful enough to keep them charged.
your car cannot handle 3k watts daily without an alternator upgrade so don't plan running it with less than a 2 ohm load...assuming you even have the alternator power to handle that much.
go find out how many amps your alternator puts out...if its a newer car then the cars going to probably use 30-40 amps for basic functions and whatever is left over is what you calculate your capabilities with. chances are your alternator wont be capable of running 1000rms watts on top of basic functions.
dude what are you THAT ignorant? an extra battery is ALL the better. much better than any kinda of capacitor on the market. one reason and one reason alone. The fact that i have a 2 ft cable now and its zero guage drops the resistance in that wire alone. You gonna hook up a 10ft power cable to 3k watts? plus i dont even want to get in the specifics of battery charging vs using power. somehow by "screwing" myself over my car hasnt died once. nor does it even show any signs of either battery getting weaker. in fact now that i have 2 batteries i can actually listen to my subs with the car off for about an hr and STILL start it afterwards. so you tell me how its NOT HOOKED UP RIGHT when its in fact pushing just fine.... can we PLEASE get back to the main reason i started this thread now? mr. im so smart has to go off on some random topics... subs. this thread is all about subs, not my amp or any of that.
