As long as you set your gains right and don't crank up the bass boost you'll be fine.

i hooked 2x pioneer 10's up to 2000 rms and they where only 350 rms a piece in sealed and it wasnt as bad as i thought it would get. they survived.

also correct me if im wrong, but 60hz isnt really that low of a note, higher notes are easier to hit higher numbers are they not (150db @ 32hz opposed to 150db @60+ hz)

There is no such thing as over powering a sub... That is if u have everything tunned correctly. I ran 2 Diamond D3 12"s off a memphis 2000D at 1ohm for years, among other speakers all of which were over powered by atleast 30-50%.

Yes you are right. Hell 60 hz is actually a pretty high bass note; I consider the low 30s and below as low notes. And yeah it's a lot easier to hit a 150 at 60 hz than it is say at 32 hz.



Are you stupid? So you're telling me if I ran 3000 RMS to a 1000 RMS sub, it wouldn't be overpowering? Just cause you are tuned correctly doesn't mean you're not overpowering. If I set my gains for 3000 watts and put it in a 1000 rms sub, i am definitely overpowering it by running 3x it's rated power.

you never want to over power the rms of the subwoofer.

60Hz is an extremely high note which most subwoofer boxes will have a hard time picking up, My subwoofer box is tuned to 20hz which is quite low and it couldn't be able to pick up a 60Hz note, Just as a 60Hz box couldn't pick up and 20hz note. It would basically sound like a pause in the beat of the song, you wouldn't hear the subwoofers making sound at the point where the HZ go that high/low

If you know what you are doing, you will be fine. My subs are rated at 600 rms each and I run 1000 to each one and I don't have problems. Also I don't clip my shit nor blast it full tilt for long periods of time either.




Most boxes can play it since most prefabs are tuned into the 40s. I'm tuned to 30 hz and I can play it; granted it's not as loud as the other notes, but I can still play it. Box design and efficiency will play a big part in how your box will perform.
