a power cell is a battery. the difference between AGM power cells and old wet cell batteries is the acid is is glass matts instead of being a liquid so its more efficient. its less of a strain than traditional batteries but it would still be better to have a single AGM cell than a regular battery and AGM cell. you don't want to use more than 1 battery if you don't have to. the only reason competition level people have those battery banks is because you simply cannot get an alternator that would deal with the power draw they use and battery banks supply temporary power sources for them.
so 1 good AGM battery is the ideal setup for daily use setups. AGM batteries can handle up to 4000 watt range with a single battery so unless you daily use more than that you only really need 1.
