I already recommended a good sub/amp for that box and yes ampling the mids and highs would be a lot better but not needed. Chances are if your trunk is solid metal it's not worth getting a subwoofer.

didnt say it was solid metal was just asking because theres a gas tank in the trunk..

By gas tank in the trunk what exactly do you mean?... IF theres a solid wall between cabin and trunk yes it's going to kill your output big time to the point of not even wanting it. If it's just a seat then no you're fine, imo it should be fine if you have a strong enough subwoofer like the Premier Pro.

what I mean is the cars gas tank is in the trunk thus a small trunk... look up a 2006 GTO trunk and you will see and I dont know this other guy seems a bit more creditable O_O

Not that my help is "credible" or anything but that shouldn't affect much, it's going to dampen the sound a bit but you should be fine.

ya what we were basically asking is if they had a firewall in place or something. i've never seen a gto gas tank so i figure for safety reasons they may have put a metal barrier between it and the cabin of the car.

Makes sense since they wouldn't want gasses leaking into the cabin... I personally wouldn't bother just because it would greatly hinder performance but if you're just looking for a little extra bass then by all means it should be fine.
