why is this a better setup than that original bundle i had posted? wouldnt 2x 12's be better than 1x 12? I take it that it has to do with the amp

there is a lot more to subs than just their surface area. power, sensitivity, stability, cone design, cone material, surface area all work together in a sub. basing how loud something will be only on how many or how large is wrong.

what if i just swapped the amp from that package? more power?

doesn't work that way either. the original subs only go down to 4 ohm load which would be half the power of the single sub and also underpower them causing damage.

there is no reason to get 2 subs if you can't afford to get 2 good subs.
