Not really I've used Alpine CDA's many different models and Ive used other Pioneers in a similar price-range and I've used Soundstreams and Eclipses and Kenwoods and I've found that this Pioneer was THE BEST bang for its buck even online. Trust em I did a lot of shopping before I bought this and had a lot of experience with various headunits under my belt. Show me a comparible headunit online or local for $160 that has all of that and then some. I bought mine at walmart for $160 because it was on sale. They usually went for $200 locally or $180 online I got mine for a steal this was a year ago too before the newer models came out. Clarions imo are just cheap headunits and don't have the quality of most headunits on the market, hell I'd rather have a Soundstream and imo those aren't even that good. Just preference I suppose.

Kenwood makes ONE headunit that's similar in the price-range but it's very cheap and doesn't look as good as mine and I noticed it's a bit more confusing like most Kenwood headunits and most of the option locations make no sense and are a pain to figure out. I think for ease of use, interface, design and specs the DEH4200UB is a really great headunit and I think that's why a TON of people use them.

Buying it at Walmart you actually bought a different, cheaper version of that head unit than had you bought it anywhere else.

What I meant was, $160 doesnt go too far locally.

my local audio shop sucks ass. $200 kicker amps=$500 there.

i don't get how they stay in business lol.

Its like that at any local audio store. We sold Rockford shit for prices just under the MSRP, which is still crazy high.

most of their stuff is at least $50 over msrp. i've even seen some exact same models they sell at walmart for 50-100% more and they are 5 minutes from walmart lol.

even their installs are terrible. makes me wish i could open up an audio shop here because it would be easy as shit to undercut them.

All companies are like that and local shops for the most part haha which is why I've opened my own business in my area...This is why I stopped buying Mainstream brands Locally or in general. I'm also a DC vendor so I probably won't be going another brand ever due to my free shipping and discount.

sonicelectronix is about the only place i would buy mainstream stuff from these days.
