and i can't seem to find a amp that will work with atrs without hitting the $450 range total.

more bass pretty much. also built a bit more durable.

they will probably be too much for you though if you are just wanting to add a good amount of bass and not completely overpower your other speakers.

So getting smaller subs would increase the bass?

size is only a part of what makes subs loud. surface area, excursion, power,sensitivity are all main factors when choosing a sub not just size.

no if you don't use proper power they will overheat. the subs need to move efficient to stay cool. you can do it for short amounts of time but you can't leave it turned down indefinitely.

unless you plan on spending more money on interior speakers and a 4 channel amp in the future than stick with the rockford setup.
