yes and no. less is better but the way you wiring and number of subs also dictates the final ohm load.
so to account for the final ohm load you need to figure out:
number of voice coils
ohm of each voice coil
number of amp channels(1 channel is standard for 2 subs)
how they will be wired
the subs and amp will require no power ratings from your radio except for their pre-amp voltage which isn't something that matters a whole lot depending on how high end the sub/amp are.
how many watts you want isn't a good way to look at it because its hard to get an idea of watt power in regards to how much sound that many watts can produce. just saying that makes me feel like i've completely overcomplicated the process.
