Alright he said "Its a dual 2 ohm voice coil sub so it takes a 4 ohm load off the amp"

doing a 4 ohm load on a 2 ohm dvc sub is stupid. it makes it hard to trust the guy when hes telling you to wire it the least efficient way possible.

2 ohm dvc subs run 1ohm loads so you can get more power out of your amp.

if i was you i would take the sub out and be sure because he doesn't know much himself.

btw you are going to have to remove the sub anyways if the previous owner had it wired to 4 ohms. you have to rewire it to 1 ohm. picture will show you how.

that amp isn't near powerful enough to run the sub and extended use would ruin both of them most likely.
