He wants to keep the deck because i'm pretty sure it comes with a bluetooth for you ipod/phone.

When you get in the truck you can turn the bluetooth on to your ipod if you have it hooked to your iphone/itouch..

Aftermarket Deck = Best Option

Although a line out converter will still get you 4-5V preouts, the aftermarket deck is the better solution.

Ones for ipod and bluetooth dont cost that much, and will get you better quality than the stock garbage that Chevy puts out.

Like said above, if you can afford a new car and some subs and an amp, you should be able to drop $200 on a decent deck.

I've had people not buy certain cars due to the selection of stereo equipment...they would test drive the car, stop by with it, ask questions, etc.

Actually my subs sound great using this method. The only drawback is the lack of EQ versatility.
I know the quality is going to improve when I replace my h/u, but it sounds just fine for now.

In fact, I need to replace all of the seam sealer for my back window panel as it's nearly completely loose.
