OK, well I'm decided on speakers
Front: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Kenwood+-+6-1/2+3-Way+Car+Speakers+with+Polypropylene+Cones+(Pair)/9764357.p?skuId=9764357&productCategoryId=pcmcat223000050008&id=1218169463461
Rear: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sony+-+6+x+9+3-Way+Speaker+with+HOP/Aramid+Fiber+Cones+(Pair)/1982098.p?skuId=1982098&productCategoryId=pcmcat223000050008&id=1218304514978

But still Would like to get a stereo for under like $100. I saw subwoffer and night 's suggestions, but just want to see what else there is out there?
the only things im really looking for is an aux jack (for my mp3) and enough output for the speakers listed above

You need to start by not spending Best Buy prices. That will leave you more money for a head unit.
Sonic Electronix has a multitude of head units that meet your needs for $100-$200.

The reason I'm using best buy is because I have multiple 10-30% discounts, and a $50 gift certificate. But if you want to post from somewhere else, that fine I just want an idea of what a good head unit is, and from what I've heard, Poineer is pretty good.

Pioneer is fine, prefer Kenwood.

pioneer is known for their great eq's while kenwood is liked because almost all their headunits have a 4v pre out

i'd take kenwood over pioneer, but that's just me, now if your lucky like i was once you can find a nice alpine for cheaper then both, had it in our 1965 must, was a screen that folded back into itself, was honestly the best one i've ever had, hands down

kenwood>pioneer is what i was saying though
going to best buy is a good way to look/use the headunits though

the only reason i like kenwood is their 4v preouts, i cant stand the logarithmic volume control where it goes up 3db each volume its too easy to clip the fuck out of your amp(s) at high volumes

What I'm really looking for is just what brands and/or individual specs to look for.

Will upgrading from my current speakers make my music louder or just sound better?
And what is a typical rms rating on stock speakers like these?

Updated:

1: What is the Year, Make, and Model of the vehicle.
'97 Grand Am

2: What is your budget?
~200 usd (for all 4)

3: What exactly do you want your outcome to be? (Good sounding music, or loud bass?)
Good sounding music, decent bass.

4: And specific sub sizes that you prefer more than others?
no subs needed, just speakers

5: How much trunk space do you want to use up?
see #4

6: What type of features are you looking for in a CD Player (aka Head Unit)? (Ex: USB, AUX, BlueTooth, etc)
Replaced the head unit since I started this thread

7: What type of music do you listen to?
Metal/Dub

8: Is your stock stereo system amplified? (You may or may not know this)
Yes, Pioneer 50W x 4 w/ a MOSFET amp in it

9: Do you have Steering Wheel Controls? (Volume/Seek on the steering wheel)
still no

Pretty sure the front speakers are 6.5 and the rear are 6x9 but thats not too important, i can adjust size when i find a line of speakers i want to get.
