If it's the same total power output, 1 driver or 10 drivers, the output is the same. 1 4 ohm driver or 4 4 ohm drivers series parallel'ed will have the same output on the same amp. and 4 times the cost and box

what kind of jackass would buy more subs to underpower them?

point was 1 sub at 500rms(similar specs) as 2 subs@250rms are equal in your scenario. 1 1000rms sub on that amp vs 4 250rms subs on that amp is equal and probably around the same price is the point. no one is going to buy 4 1000rms subs and hook them up at 250rms like your scenario :/

the db output is on a curve you dont really get that much more out of it from maxing the wattage. subs do run better at the top third of there limit but 2 of the same subs running at half the power will beat that one peaked sub. ur not getting that much excursion from doubling the wattage. surface area >

now i'm curious about how to tune my speakers in my car
my front 4x6's are 90 - 22,000 Hz
and my rear 6x9's are 60 - 22,000 Hz
i'm just wonder about how i should have my speakers setup as far as the built in crossover in my KIV-900

i have my front set at 80 Hz with -24db and my rear at 80 Hz with - 6db

and i haven't messed with the DTA settting yet: Digital Time Alignment (DTA): Choose from 0.00 to 14.44 feet for the Front pair of speakers, Rear pair of speakers, and Subwoofer distances in reference to the distance between your listening positioning and the locations of the particular speakers.
is that in relation how for the speakers are from me?
