K man have you taken the car apart yet to get to the infinity amp?

yeah

you need to take the amp inputs, cut those and tie them into the outputs, then take the infinity amp and just discard it. wiring the inputs to the outputs will bypass the amp and you should be fine.

The thing is that the infinity system has it so all of the speakers in the car ran into it, so when you install an aftermarket headunit the stock amp isnt turning on, which means you arent going to get power to your speakers. If you wanted you could also just run a jumper wire from the headunit to turn on the infinity amp, but i dont advise it because those amps are shit, and sometimes they make your stock speakers sound like shit with an aftermarket system.

here is a link with enough information to get you going. Its honestly a very simple fix. "cut off plugs, crimp inputs to outputs" turn on radio. bump like a madman.

He can still use his factory amp.

The factory amp is hooked up to the speakers, while this amp is hooked up to a subwoofer.


Question, are you hearing sound from the speakers? From the subwoofer?

If you arent hearing sound from speakers, its a wiring issue with the aftermarket harness and the stock amplifier.

If you arent hearing sound from the subwoofer(s), you might have the RCA's in the wrong outputs on the back of the deck.

Did you buy the sub/amp used? They also could be toast.

Im not sure how much experience you've had with these amps, but they are piles of crap, and is eventually going to just blow on him anyways, its best to go ahead and address that issue while he has everything out of the car, cause its a bitch and a half to get to the amp.

Then its an issue with the wiring. Its also quite possible someone sold you the wrong wiring harness. Where did you buy your harness at?

Again like i said, the issue is the infinity sound system. Been there and done this man, i know what im talking about. You either have to use a jumper wire to start the stock amp, or bypass it.
