thats pretty low amperage for that amount of power but shouldn't be causing your car to turn off, trouble shoot your battery and alt like the above posts said.

if you do get a new alt be sure to do a big 3 upgrade, that will stabilize your voltage to some extent

Lol? Everyone should have a multimeter anyways. Plus its good to know if your battery/alternator are functioning properly.
