Bought a 2011 Ford Escape, don't really like the sound.

How much should I expect for it to cost and have installed a new head unit (preferably with a screen because big area to fill I would think) and new better speakers. If possible with the addition of s small sub too (10"-12").

Is $1000 being realistic for some decent speakers/head unit or should it be more? In Canada

well if i were you i would get everything from 1 website. and try and have them to package everything into least amount of boxes to get by the high cost of exporting/importing .
you can get a dbl din headunit $150+ and new speakers front and back for $150 for decent stuff. $1000 is more than enough to upgrade your head unit and speakers and you can probably be left with just enough to buy a decent amp and a good pair of subs.

hmm I was planning on going to my local car audio shop that has been there forever. If he was going to throw me a crazy high price I would buy all online and have it installed somewhere but I'm not too familiar with car audio things and would like it to be done professionally. I'll check that website out tonight.

show me some nice ones. I think if I don't have a double din I will have a lot of dead space.. not sure how it works though

you have a hertz audio dealer nearby? their prices are generally pretty competitive and they offer good quality stuff.
