So i want to put a pair of 10s in my 2004 tahoe, but i have no idea what a "decent" price is. I called a local place and they were saying they could put 2 10 inch infinities in there with like a 900 watt amp or some shit for 700 bucks and to me that honestly sounded like bullshit so i didnt do it. What should I honestly expect? I dont want competition bass rattling my tahoe to pieces, i just want some chill bass to amplify my music experience. I've been looking at JL audios 10in w0s and they seem to be pretty legit, but anyways could someone help me out with this? Thanks

I also have a 1200 watt massive amp, would I be able to use this for the 10s to save myself some money?

lol ya that is absurd pricing.

what is the amps model number? massive has some pretty gross sound quality amps they put out. the n4 for example is fine but the D1200(which you may have) has very bad output quality.

have you put in an aftermarket head unit and speakers in the front?

I do indeed have the D1200 haha. The head unit is a pioneer double din touchscreen and since its a Z71 it came stock with bose door speakers. I think all 4 are bose.

then i would suggest you sell it on craigslist or something lol.

since you seem to be fine with your current door speakers i'll just link the stuff you requested.

how much would be ideal to spend? how much do you care about very good build quality and/or sound quality?

generally a good 10 inch sub is around $100, good amp around $200, box for 2 around $80, wiring around $30

I would join one of their audio forums and talk to people who run 10s. there may even be locals u can meet with and demo some systems.

Alright haha. I dont want to spend more then 500, and I would prefer the best sound quality i can get with some deep smooth bass you know. Yeah that would be fine, so would it be better for me to order all this then bring it in to a shop here to get it installed and boxed? I dont know much at all about wiring and stuff.



Nah I dont want it too loud, just nice quality bass.

installing is time consuming, not particularly skill intensive.

if you go to a shop you are going to end up about $150+ for something you can do yourself...and really should do yourself.

wiring the amp is simple and as basic as wiring can be. 1 power, 1 ground, 2 wires to each sub, rcas and remote wire from the head unit to the amp and you're done.

i'll link some stuff in a bit. if you are just wanting "some bass" there is no real reason to take up more space with two 10s when a single is fine.

About what I was thinking

if this turns out not to be enough you will simply need to order another box and sub and wire it up to the amp.

once you get it in your hands you'll realize you thought it was way more complicated than it actually is. as long as you pull the power wire fuse you can't cause a short for example.

the ground is the only place new people tend to screw up. you'll need to sand off paint which people forget.
